Parnaiba tries to be a secondary host city of the World Cup

It is the example of <link http: www.northeastbrazil.net external-link-new-window>Parnaiba, in Piauí, which launched on February 27^th its campaign for the application to the council's Cup in 2014. In the event they presented the logos of the advertising campaign and other items created by a company contracted by the State Coordinator of Communication. There was also the production of brass bands and samba schools from local to animate the party's nomination.

According to the Technical Secretariat of Tourism, Marcelo Correia, this release is a way of informing the public about the application, which can bring good results for the developement of the state, moving the economy and spreading the region.
The application of the Parnaiba secondary host city has been done by the State Government, through Fundespi and the creation of a Committee, to meet all the technical data necessary for the consolidation of the document to be sent to the CBF as well as measure all efforts (policies and infrastructure) to host an event of this size. Investments made today in the International Airport Parnaiba, wind mill in the Stone of Sal in hotel capacity that should increase to 3000 beds with the construction of a resort and the urbanization of the edge and the beaches are the main arguments listed to promote the region, besides the construction of an Olympic Village in 2010 still in the order of 1.5 million already released through the amendment of Mr Osmar Júnior.
