Ahoy Rotterdam and AEG make a strategic alliance 15 Jun 2009

Ahoy Roterdam and the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) have closed a contract for several years to optamlize the occupation, marketing, sponsoring and operational services of the Sportpaleis, the indoor arena of Ahoy.

“This strategic alliance is a very positive development for the development and exploitation of Ahoy Rotterdam and the position of Ahoy in a rapidly changing international sport- & entertainmentmarket,” according to Jos van der Vegt, CEO Ahoy Rotterdam. AEG is a well established partner who, with her network and knowledge in the event-business, will be able to attract for Ahoy famous artists, sportevents and familyshows”. Bob Newman, Chief Operating Officer of AEG fascilities says: “We always thought that Rotterdam is one of the most prestigious cities for international concerttours. The addition of the Sportpaleis of Ahoy is for our international network of important venues, provides a obvious increasing value of the accommodation and makes it a ‘must-play’ for every big concerttour of sportevent.”

AEG has recently worked with Dutch promoters for the concerttours of Beyoncé, P!ink, Lionel Richie, Leonard Cohen and Alicia Keys and is also responsible for the 50 concerts of Michael Jackson, which will be held in the O2 Arena in London.
