Fifa postpones to May the announcement of the seats for the World Cup in Brazil 16 Mar 2009

FIFA announced, on March 11, postponing the announcement of the headquarters of the World Cup of 2014, which will be disputed in Brazil.

Previously scheduled for the day March 20, the ceremony will be held in late May at a date not yet confirmed.
The site was also modified. The first announcement was made in Zurich, Switzerland, but is now scheduled to Bahamas, before Fifa's Congress to be held in the same place.
The justification presented by the entity is a better analysis of the 17 applications. The number of seats to be chosen rose from 10 to 12.
"Since the growth of cities-seats from 10 to 12, which was decided by the FIFA Executive Committee in December, and on account of lack of need for an immediate decision, there was the option, in agreement with the CBF to give more time for analysis of reports on the candidate cities, "says the release.
