SMG directs the most modern stadium in Poland 1 Feb 2010

SMG, biggest stadium operator worldwide signed a 12 year contract with the city Wroclaw for one of the most popular stadium projects - the stadium Wroclaw. After a comprehensive negotiation period Wroclaw decided for SMG. The contract is a milestone for SMG. For this reason SMG is the first private operating company which managed a public event arena in Poland.

The stadium of Wroclaw is the first stadium of the UEFA European championship which calls his operator. The preparations for this event could start earlier.

SMG Europe is the largest operator of sports and entertainment venues in the United Kingdom and Europe, controlling over 75,000 seats in nine facilities. SMG will present many events in this stadium. The economic profit will be guaranteed after the UEFA championship 2012. SMG will be responsible for all management areas. Especially the event booking, event-organisation, ticket sales and namingright sales are the most important things for the operator SMG.

The Wroclaw stadium is situated under construction. 42.000 seats, 2000 club seats and 30 VIP-boxes will be build.

Expanding into mainland Europe, the group also manages the König Pilsener Arena and the Loreley Amphitheatre in Germany and Oslo Spektrum in Norway's capital. SMG Europe was also awarded the contract to operate the major venues for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, the largest multi-sports event ever held in Britain with competitors from over 70 countries. Organizationally SMG has two separate operating divisions, one for convention centres and another for stadiums and arenas, providing the same effective business principles to distinctly different business segments.

At the current time SMG manages 76 arenas, 9 stadiums, 49 performing arts centers, 62 convention centres and 13 other recreational facilities. Overall, SMG controls more than 1.4 million seats in entertainment venues privately managed by the firm.
